Several Austin musicians have come together to form a new band called Happyland. This group aims to bring joy during challenging times, inspired by classic bands such as the Eagles and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSN&Y). The band is fronted by four singer-songwriters.

Kimmie Rhodes, a legendary and award-winning artist with 19 albums to her name, leads the ensemble. Her songs have been covered by artists like Willie Nelson and Emmylou Harris. Joining her is her son Gabriel Rhodes, a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer known for his collaborations with artists such as Billy Joe Shaver.

Shawn Pander contributes soulful songs and vocals that have been featured on Fearless Music TV (FOX) and the Dr. Phil Show. Johnny Goudie adds his power-pop style to the mix; he has worked with bands including Bodeans and The Go-Go’s.

The band’s lineup also includes drummer John Chipman from Band of Heathens, bass player Harmoni Kelley who has played with Kenny Chesney, and keyboard player Louis Rhodes.

Happyland’s debut single “Happyland” will be available everywhere starting Tuesday, June 17th.
