Austin Jazz Society to honor musicians at Hall of Fame Awards

The Austin Jazz Society will host the Austin Jazz Hall of Fame Awards on September 15, 2025. The event will honor Ephraim Owens, Stephen Zirkel, Greg Wilson, Walter Hutcherson, and Dr. Jim Rose. Support for the awards comes from Austin Hope Wine.

The ceremony is organized independently by the Austin Jazz Society and is classified as a venue rental event at the Long Center for Performing Arts. According to organizers, “Any views or opinions expressed in this event or by the event organizers do not necessarily reflect the views, positions, or values of the Long Center.”

The Long Center emphasized its commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all attendees. “The Long Center is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment and will not tolerate demeaning, harassing, or discriminatory conduct from, or directed toward, patrons, artists, rental clients, staff, or volunteers,” according to a statement from the organization.
