All Austin Independent School District (AISD) schools and offices will operate on their regular schedules on Wednesday, January 28. Extracurricular and after-school activities are set to resume as well. The district advised families to check with campus or program leadership for updates regarding any rescheduled events.
“Our bus drivers will be taking extra precautions as they navigate their routes. You can track your child’s bus with the,” the district stated in a message to the community.
AISD encouraged everyone to allow extra time for morning commutes due to possible weather-related delays. “We will excuse tardies related to weather and traffic delays. If you have questions, please contact your child’s school directly,” the statement continued.
After several days of building closures, some ice accumulation is expected across campuses. Facilities crews and custodians will prioritize placing caution signage around hazardous areas early in the morning. The district urged students and staff to avoid unsafe areas and report any hazards to campus leadership.
“Thank you again for your flexibility as we navigate this weather event as a community. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!” AISD said.
