The Kerr County floods have affected several families within the Austin Independent School District (ISD), according to Superintendent Matias Segura. The district is coordinating with its crisis and counseling team to offer support and necessary services to those impacted.

Superintendent Segura has encouraged families affected by the weather event to contact their campus principals for assistance. “We are here to support our Austin ISD community and continue to pray for the safe recovery of those who are still missing,” said Segura.

In addition, the district is offering individualized services through its counseling and mental health team. Information on which campuses will serve as counseling centers will be shared as it becomes available.

Residents are reminded that hazardous conditions may persist even after the rain has stopped. The National Weather Service advises limiting non-essential travel, and updates can be found on their website.

Matias Segura also issued a statement in Spanish, reiterating the same message of support and caution to the Spanish-speaking members of the community.
