Austin Independent School District has announced several districtwide events for November. All schools and district offices will be closed from Monday, Nov. 24 to Friday, Nov. 28.

The Special Education Transition Team will host an event on Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sanchez Elementary School, located at 73 San Marcos St., Austin. The Texas Parent to Parent Pathways to Adulthood program will provide families with resources to plan for their young adult’s life after high school. The event is open to families of students with disabilities, chronic illnesses, mental health conditions or other special healthcare needs, as well as professionals who support them.

A districtwide meeting about the updated school consolidation plan is scheduled for Nov. 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Delco Activity Center (4601 Pecan Brook Dr., Austin). Community members are invited to learn more about the plan during this session.

In addition, the String Fest presented by the Austin ISD Fine Arts Department will take place at noon on Nov. 19 at the Delco Activity Center. The event is free and open to the public and aims to support students through music performances.

For additional calendar events and information, community members are encouraged to visit the district’s website.
