Austin FC has confirmed the transfer of defender Leo Väisänen to BK Häcken in Sweden. Väisänen, who joined Austin from IF Elfsborg in January 2023, made 34 appearances in Major League Soccer (MLS), starting 29 matches over two seasons. During his time with Austin FC, he scored one goal and provided an assist.

“We wish Leo all the best on his return to the Swedish league and we thank him for his service to the Club since he joined in 2023,” said Austin FC Sporting Director Rodolfo Borrell.

With this transfer, Austin FC now has three open senior roster slots and two open international slots available for future signings.
