Austin FC has announced the acquisition of winger Robert Taylor from Inter Miami CF. The deal involves Austin FC trading $450,000 in 2025 General Allocation Money (GAM), $250,000 in 2026 GAM, and a conditional $50,000 in 2027 GAM to Miami. Taylor is contracted with Austin FC until the end of the 2026 season, with an option for 2027.
Taylor joined Inter Miami CF in 2022 and made 91 MLS regular season appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 10 assists. His performance contributed to Miami’s success in winning the 2023 Leagues Cup and the 2024 MLS Supporters’ Shield.
Internationally, Taylor has represented Finland in 34 matches, scoring two goals and assisting three times. He was part of Finland’s squad at UEFA EURO 2020. Before joining MLS, Taylor played for clubs in Finland, Sweden, and Norway, notably at SK Brann where he scored 14 goals and assisted on 16 occasions over two seasons.
Taylor will take a senior slot on Austin FC’s roster but will not occupy an international slot.
