Austin FC II faced a challenging match against St. Louis City 2, resulting in a 4-2 defeat at Parmer Field on Friday night. St. Louis demonstrated strong performance early in the game, scoring four goals within the first 24 minutes, with contributions from three different players.

Despite trailing significantly, Austin FC II managed to respond in the second half with two late goals. Ervin Torres scored for Austin in the 79th minute with a long-range effort, while Jorge Alastuey added another goal during stoppage time after skillfully maneuvering past his defender.

The match saw Miguel Perez open the scoring for St. Louis, assisted by Wan Kuzain in the 12th minute. Mykhi Joyner then scored twice, once from a penalty and again with an assist from Brendan McSorley. Wan Kuzain also found the net before halftime, assisted by Emil Jääskeläinen and Jayden Reid.

Austin FC II will next play against Real Monarchs on July 20th at 8:30 p.m. CT, continuing their MLS NEXT Pro season away from home.
