As Thanksgiving approaches, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) is encouraging travelers to bring local flavors and gifts to their holiday gatherings. The airport has highlighted several options for passengers looking to share a “Taste of AUS” with friends and family.

For those interested in Texas barbecue, Salt Lick BBQ offers whole briskets, smoked turkey breasts, and gift packs available for take-home purchase. According to the airport, “No need to have some poor soul spend hours on the main dish when you can let the culinary masters at Salt Lick BBQ do it for you!”

Travelers can also explore Taste ATX, which features dry rubs, sauces from local chefs, vintage Texas candies, and themed gifts unique to the Hill Country region. These items are intended as additions for holiday parties focused on food and family.

Amy’s Ice Creams provides a selection tailored for children and families. Their holiday-themed collection includes a “Big Kid S’mores Kit,” Mexican vanilla marshmallows, hot cocoa, and other sweets designed to add variety to Thanksgiving celebrations.

Coffee enthusiasts can find offerings from Ruta Maya at AUS. The airport notes that “Ruta Maya has several different sizes and flavors of their locally owned, world-famous coffee beans in their vintage burlap sacks.” Options include dark roast, medium roast, espresso roast, and decaf.

Wine options are available through Vino Volo at the terminal. Passengers can purchase bottles representing various wine regions and varieties such as rosé, chardonnay, and red wines.

The airport recommends arriving 2.5 hours early for domestic flights or 3 hours early for international departures. Travelers seeking directions within the terminal are encouraged to use the digital wayfinding map at airportmaps.flyaustin.com.

“Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at AUS!” said airport representatives.
