Austin airport offers local last-minute holiday gift options for travelers

Travelers passing through Austin-Bergstrom International Airport this holiday season will have access to a range of local gift options, catering to those in need of last-minute presents. Several retailers throughout the airport are offering festive merchandise and unique gifts that reflect Austin’s character.

At Tyler’s Pop-up Shop near Gate 5, travelers can purchase ornaments, winter wreaths, themed earrings, and gift-wrapping supplies. One featured item is an El Arroyo collectible ornament with the message “Have Yourself A Merry Little Margarita.”

Austin Vibes by Gate 8 offers event merchandise representing the city’s music scene and culture. Items include an Austin skyline snow globe and socks packaged as ornaments.

For children’s gifts, Toy Joy & Yummi Joy by Gate 10 stocks limited Christmas editions of popular toys such as Bluey, Pusheen, SpongeBob, Sonny Angels, and Hello Kitty. The store also carries holiday-themed candies like PopUps Lollipops, PEZ dispensers, Chocolate Reese’s Santa, Ribbon Candy, Hot Cocoa Balls, Gingerbread Cookie Dough Bites, and Sour Patch Kids “Coal” edition.

The Austin Article across from Gate 18 features a selection of gifts under $25. Options include Two Left Feet Sock Co. socks, boxed candles in seasonal scents such as Pine Tree and Peppermint Mocha, small Austin tumbler shot glasses in holiday editions, and Ty Snaps Gingerbread and Reindeer Beanie Boos.

Book People near Gate 20 offers books as well as beginner crochet kits from The Woobles featuring characters like Lord of the Rings figures and farm animals.

Austin Mercantile provides fashion accessories such as a pink “Santa, bring me a Cowboy” trucker hat and socks labeled “It’s me, hi, I’m the present, it’s me.” Texas-themed ornaments featuring bluebonnets, cowboy Santa figures, cacti planter boxes, longhorn skulls, state shapes and armadillos are also available.

Passengers can take advantage of free gift wrapping provided by the airport’s Guest Services team. “Starting Thursday, December 18 through the 24th,” reads the announcement from airport representatives. “You can visit our festive wrapping station located by Gate 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily, and we’ll turn your last-minute find into a ready-to-give surprise.”

Travelers are encouraged to arrive early to allow time for shopping before their flights.
