Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) reported significant growth in 2025, serving 21,666,852 departing and arriving passengers. The airport attributed this achievement to the dedication of its airline partners and staff. In a statement, AUS said, “We want to say thank you to every single one of these travelers, and ultimately a very special thank you to our airline partners for delivering exceptional service and offering such a diverse range of travel options.”
During 2025, AUS introduced four new nonstop destinations and added 21 new nonstop services. These additions were aimed at meeting the needs of both leisure and business travelers.
Looking ahead to 2026, AUS has announced the completion of multi-year Airline Use and Lease Agreements as well as Signatory Cargo Agreements. These agreements establish the financial and operational framework for airlines and cargo companies at AUS for the next decade. According to AUS, “These milestone agreements will support ongoing operations and fund the airport’s major expansion and development, including the construction of 32 new airline gates.” The agreements require airlines and cargo companies to fund their proportional share of projects that aim to expand capacity, strengthen resiliency, and improve passenger experience.
For 2026, AUS has already announced five new nonstop destinations and seven new nonstop services.
The City of Austin manages a budget of $5.9 billion according to its official website and employs more than 16,000 staff members to manage its operations. The city emphasizes diversity, inclusion and high-quality service as core values. It also maintains historic sites such as Oakwood Cemetery and Zilker Botanical Garden within its park system according to city information. Austin aims for sustainable development with a vision of being among the most livable cities in the country.
