APD seeks public help in identifying aggravated robbery suspect

The Austin Police Department (APD) Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an aggravated robbery at Airport Lounge Sweepstakes, located at 1197 Airport Boulevard. The incident occurred on Monday, June 3, 2024, around 12:55 p.m.

According to the APD, the suspect entered the business armed with a handgun and demanded cash from the register. He subsequently fled the scene on foot, heading northbound towards East 12th Street and Airport Boulevard.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, approximately 5’6” to 5’10” tall with a heavy build and appearing to be in his 30s. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black hoodie with “Adidas” tags, dark gray pants, black and white shoes, and a blue surgical mask.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact APD’s Robbery Unit at 512-974-5092. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
