Amy LaVere and Will Sexton are set to perform live on September 4th at 8:00 PM.

Amy LaVere is a distinguished artist whose work has been recognized for its originality and timeless quality. NPR’s Robert Siegel noted, “she specializes in lyrics that are more barbed than her sweet soprano prepares you for.” Amos Perinne of No Depression commented, “Her songs have a level of detail comparable to a photo. LaVere has a knack for documenting simple moments and making them riveting.”

LaVere’s album ‘Painting Blue’ (2019) received high praise, with Mojo Magazine awarding it 4 out of 4 stars. The album was produced by her husband, Will Sexton, who captured the essence of her storytelling.

Known for her captivating live performances, LaVere has performed at various notable venues and festivals, including St. Andrew’s Hall in London and Bonnaroo. She began her music career in Detroit before moving to Memphis in 1999, where she became an active participant in the local music scene.

Her discography includes several critically acclaimed albums such as ‘Anchors & Anvils’ (2007), ‘Stranger Me’ (2011), ‘Runaway’s Diary’ (2014), and ‘Hallelujah I’m A Dreamer’ (2015). In addition to her solo work, she has collaborated with artists like Luther Dickinson and Todd Snider.

Will Sexton, born in San Antonio and raised in Austin, moved to Memphis in 2013 after marrying Amy LaVere. He has established himself as a versatile musician involved in writing, producing, session playing, and performing solo. His latest release, ‘Don’t Walk The Darkness,’ showcases influences from Americana, gospel, blues, and Tex-Mex romance.

Sexton plays a pivotal role at producer Bruce Watson’s Delta-Sonic Sound studio and is associated with the Fat Possum-distributed Big Legal Mess label.

The upcoming performance promises to be an engaging experience featuring two accomplished musicians known for their distinctive styles and contributions to the music industry.
